Look Amazing For your Maternity Photos at Mary Greener Portraiture In Montgomery, Alabama
Every mom knows what an incredibly busy time your pregnancy is. Not only do you feel like you're constantly in one doctor's office or another but you're preparing your home and your life for an incredible new addition. Taking time out to honor and cherish your pregnancy and preserve the memories is something you'll always thank yourself for, and one lasting way to do this is with maternity photography.
Fine art maternity portraiture is all about capturing and celebrating the beauty and magic of your pregnancy. Naturally, you want to look as incredible as possible when the day arrives. As a luxury maternity photographer who has helped countless moms-to-be do precisely that, I have a few tips and tricks.
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!
If you want to look great in a hurry, the best thing you can do is to hydrate. Drink plenty of water for at least the week leading up to your maternity photo session. This brightens your complexion and allows you to truly maximize that pregnancy glow.
Don't forget to hydrate from the outside too. Get in the habit of applying moisturizer (for your face and your body) once or twice each day, and especially don't forget to apply it the morning of your photo session. Moisturizer plumps and smooths your skin to minimize fine lines and wrinkles.
Indulge in Professional Hair and Makeup Services
For many women, maternity portraiture is an experience they only have one or two opportunities for in their lifetimes, so treat it like the special occasion that it is. I proudly partner with professional hairstylists and makeup artists who help every mom-to-be in my studio to look even more spectacular than she did before, and I'm happy to coordinate these services for your photo session.
Choose Your Wardrobe Wisely (Both During and Before Your Shoot)
Your photo session wardrobe is a key part of your maternity portraits, complementing your beauty and highlighting that treasured baby bump. During your consultation, we'll discuss the look you want and the color schemes you might consider. While you're welcome to bring any pieces and accessories of your own, I also have a luxury client closet full of gorgeous high-end maternity gowns for your use. I have plenty of clients who love the artistic simplicity of nude portraits as well.
No matter what you choose for your photoshoot wardrobe, you also want to think about what to wear before your session. Steer clear of any clothes that might leave marks or indents on your skin so you have that nice smooth look when you step in front of the camera.
Relax and Let Your Photographer Make Some Magic!
In all honesty, this is the biggest tip of all. As I tell all of my clients: just relax and let me do the work for you! Dramatic and stunning maternity photography is my bread and butter, and I know exactly how to capture all of your beauty in its greatest form. From posing to lighting to camera angles, I can make every shot a winner. All you have to do is relax and enjoy being glamorous!
